Status: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation: $28.00 + $2.00 WEG hourly

Position Summary
The Resource Educator provides on-site pedagogical, operational, and mentoring support to the Early Learning Site Supervisor and educators. This role strengthens program quality through curriculum leadership, coaching, inclusive practices, and collaboration, while remaining in ratio as required by site needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support to the Early Learning Site Supervisor by leading curriculum implementation and offering guidance, feedback, and coaching to educators.
- Plan and deliver curriculum based on Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT) and How Does Learning Happen? pedagogy, while continuing to work in ratio as determined by site needs.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, equitable, and positive learning environment for children, families, and colleagues.
- Build caring, responsive, and respectful relationships with children and families.
- Monitor children’s development, document progress, and participate in assessment and planning processes.
- Assist with operational tasks and collaborate on program improvement and quality-enhancement initiatives.
- Provide opportunities for problem-solving, exploration, and decision-making through active, play-based learning.
- Ensure compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), organizational policies and procedures, and all health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with families, staff, and stakeholders regarding children’s progress and program updates.
- Administer and document medication and health-related information in accordance with policy and legislation.
- Collaborate with the Early Learning Site Supervisor and Administrative Associate to ensure data integrity related to scheduling, payroll, attendance, and billing.
- Provide up to 15 hours of dedicated program support time.
- Assist with onboarding and orientation of new staff.
- Participate in structured peer mentorship and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of professional learning, certifications, and credentials.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) with a Resource Consultant Certificate.
- Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an early childhood setting with demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Experience supporting children with special needs.
- Valid First Aid and CPR-C certification (or a plan to obtain certification) and Food Handler certification within three months of hire.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
- Strong knowledge of child development, How Does Learning Happen?, ELECT, and the CCEYA.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
